The Prairie Bandits

Raised on the southern prairie of Minnesota, I fell in love with wild spaces and all the creatures that inhabit them. Rising from extinction, the black-footed ferret became a beacon of hope that restoration and reintroduction of endangered animals is possible.

That possibility is where I draw my inspiration to pursue stories that need more awareness and educate individuals and industries to align with more sustainable practices.

Black-Footed Ferret Productions, LLC started with the Outdoor Minimalist podcast and has expanded to cover audio and video content in the outdoor industry.

Founded with conservation in mind, our team of three pursues projects that help raise environmental awareness and uncover environmental injustices.

The Outdoor Minimalist Podcast

Born from the ideas in my first book, Outdoor Minimalist is a podcast raising awareness through conversation, information, and mindfulness regarding some of the most important environmental issues of our time.

The goal of Outdoor Minimalist is to give outdoor enthusiasts and outdoor companies tools they can use to change their behavior when engaging in outdoor recreation to lower their overall environmental impact.

We do this by interviewing experts across the outdoor industry to share new ideas in product innovation, teach consumers how to read through greenwashing, give new recreation enthusiasts a starting place, and ways to create a better outdoor space as we recreate.

The Outdoor Queen

Meg and her wide variety of guests share relevant and important insights useful for anyone who loves the outdoors and cares about reducing their environmental impact. I learn so much in each episode and feel I’ve become a much more mindful explorer because of it. Truly a must listen 🤩

What a gem! Bite-sized and non-intimidating

Meg does a wonderful job of bringing important topics to light. Her work encompasses so much more than minimalism. Her guests are informative and entertaining. Instead of feeling overwhelmed and inadequate in the minimalism and sustainability realm, I feel empowered to know that every little bit I do counts. Meg and her guests show us how without being condescending or feeling like we are doing too little. Thank you!

Awesome podcast!

Meg shares so many informative tips for outdoor recreation that can also be used in everyday living that are super helpful and help keep you grounded and put things in perspective. A great podcast to listen to!

- And how can we move forward in the outdoor industry without PFAS?

If you’re wondering how we can make a difference in the fight against PFAS pollution and keep our planet and our health on the forefront of producers minds, tune into Forever Chemicals.

Informative and important

I just finished listening to the first 2 episodes and this series is very impressive. The breadth of the interview subjects and the thoroughness of the research is incredibly valuable.

PFAS PFAS

Seriously engaging content, on a topic we should all take some time to educate ourselves about, as it impacts every single one of us… Meg and her team have done an amazing job creating a gripping narrative, to help us all develop insights into how our natural world is being consistently impacted by forever chemicals. Listen up, people!

Highly recommend!

I highly recommend this podcast if you want to learn more about PFAS ("forever") chemicals. Meg is an excellent researcher and packs so much information and amazing interviews into these episodes.
